Liverpool came into this one hoping to reduce the gap between them and the champions. They as usual got off on the front foot asking many questions of the Spurs backline but that left a lot of room for Spurs to exploit with Harry Kane putting the hosts ahead following some wonderful movement.
Of the two, Tottenham were posing more of a threat with Son and Dele Ali missing two clear cut opportunities with Winks pulling the strings in midfield. These would come back to haunt them as Diogo Jota showed his aerial ability drawing Liverpool level. The visitors would finish then finish the half on the front foot with neither adding to their tally.
Tottenham would continue to catch Liverpool at the back but fail to continuously finish . However, Despite not threatening that much, Liverpool eventually doubled the score with the fullbacks combining for Robertson to go on the score sheet.
Eight minutes later, Spurs were at it again with a huge Alison blunder getting in Son who equalised in cool fashion. Things would go on to escalate as a reckless challenge by Robertson saw him sent off leaving the visitors scrambling for a point.
Tottenham 2 : 2 Liverpool
