Ajax have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Chuba Akpom from Ajax Amsterdam on an initial five-year deal.
Ajax will pay Middlesborough €12.3 million for the 27-year-old former Arsenal forward, and the deal includes performance-related add-ons.

CLUB STATEMENT
“Ajax, Middlesbrough FC and Chuba Akpom have reached an agreement about the transfer of the striker to Ajax,
“The 27-year-old Brit signs a contract until June 30, 2028. Ajax pays a transfer fee of € 12.3 million to Middlesbrough FC, this amount can rise to a maximum of € 14.3 million due to variables.”

How good is he?
Akpom scored 28 goals in 38 league matches last season for Middlesbrough. He represented England at youth and under-21 international levels having been born in London to Nigerian parents.
At the age of 24, he announced he switched his international allegiance to represent Nigeria for future games, but he is yet to make his debut for the Super Eagles.
