Sporting CP are champions of Portugal

Sporting CP have been crowned champions of Portugal.

This is their first league title since 2001-2002 season and and they have done it in an emphatic way.

The Portuguese outfit lost of their best player and captain Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United half way through last season.

They replaced the talented attacker with Pedro Convalves who has been sensational for Sporting.

The champions also brought in manager Rubeen Amorim for a record €10M, a fee which is 2nd highest paid for any arrival in the club’s history.

Ruben hardly had a few months of managerial experience but made history with the club by finishing the season unbeaten with 27 wins and 7 draws.
