Uganda’s Women Dominate Tunisia in African Games Rugby 7s Opener
1 min readUganda’s women’s rugby team displayed dominance in their first match against Tunisia at the African Games 2023 in Accra, Ghana.
They controlled the game from the start, scoring two tries courtesy of Grace Nabaggala and Lydia Namabiro in the opening quarter.
Tunisia struggled to advance into Uganda’s territory for five minutes until they managed to score a try just before halftime, bringing the score to 10-07.
However, that was their only score of the match. In the second half, Uganda continued their dominance, with players like Peace Lekuru, Ritta Nadunga, Nabaggala, and Maimuna Nassozi scoring five more tries. The final score was a resounding 37-07 victory for Uganda.
Despite the impressive performance, only one try was converted, highlighting the importance of conversions in a tournament where points difference matters.
