1 min read

The semi-final fixtures for the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) National Boys’ Football championship have been confirmed.

St. Mary’s Kitende, who defeated Blessed Sacrament Kimanya 2-0 in the quarterfinals, will face Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA). Meanwhile, St Julian secured their spot by eliminating Masaka SS in a penalty shootout.

They will go up against Bukedea Comprehensive, who also advanced after a penalty shootout victory against Kisozi Seed School. The quarterfinal matches were held at various locations, including St. Henry’s College Kitovu and Masaka Recreation Ground.

St Julian became the first team to book a semi-final spot, overcoming Masaka SS in a shootout after a goalless draw. St Mary’s Kitende, aiming for their 12th title and fourth consecutive win, secured a 2-0 victory over Blessed Sacrament Kimanya.

Jinja Progressive Academy defeated Amus College 3-0, while Bukedea Comprehensive edged out Kisozi Seed School in a penalty shootout. The semi-finals are scheduled for Saturday, May 4th, with the final set for Sunday, May 5th.

However, the tournament has been shadowed by petition drama, particularly concerning Jinja Secondary School’s disqualification for fielding an ineligible player. The confirmed semi-final fixtures are St. Mary’s Kitende vs JIPRA and Bukedea Comprehensive vs St Julian.
