Al Ahly Coach Pitso Mosimane is making History in African Football

If his side Al Ahly advances to the final next week, he would have reached his 3rd Consecutive CAF Champions League Final as a Coach.

He has already won the CAF Champions League with Mamelodi Sundowns and his current side Al Ahly.

The South African who signed for Al Ahly in 2020 from the Sundowners is uplifting his Egyptian team. His first game as Al Ahly coach was against Al Mokawloon on the 4th of October, in which he won 1-0.

He was the 1st non-Egyptian African to manage the Club and in November 2020, he led Al Ahly to their 9th CAF Champions League title after winning against bitter rivals Zamalek.

In 2020, Pitso Mosimane became the third coach to win the CAF Champions League with two different teams. He won 6 trophies with 2 different sides, Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly.

Al Ahly finished 3rd in the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2020 after beating Palmeiras 3-2 on penalties, the game had ended 0-0 in normal time.

In July last year, Al Ahly won 3-0 against Kaizer Chiefs in the CAF Champions League Finals, clinching a historical 10th CAF Champions League title.

The South African has already won 17 trophies in his 21 years of Football Coaching and still adding more silverware.

If Al Ahly win this year’s CAF Champions League final, Pitso Mosimane would have won it 4 times and the Club historical 11th win.

The Western Media portray him as the African Guardiola for his remarkable achievements in African Club Football.
