Alex Isabirye: Vipers confirm former Bul FC boss as their new manager
Vipers SC have confirmed the appointment of former Bul FC boss Alex Isabirye as their new manager.
Media reports revealed on Friday that Isabirye had been chosen by the Vipers SC board as Beto Bianchi Pellister’s successor.
Isabirye is the second permanent manager hired by the Venoms owner Lawrence Mulindwa since the departure of Robertinho in December 2022.
Isabirye told the club’s official website: “I am incredibly proud and excited to represent Vipers Sports Club, this fantastic football club. I am very excited to be here and look forward to meeting and working with the exciting group of players and to develop a team and culture that our amazing fans can be proud of.”
Beto Bianchi’s last game in charge was a 1-0 defeat at Tanzania side Simba SC in the CAF Champions League, which kept them bottom of Group C on 1 point after 4 games.
The kitende based club had been floundering under the Brazilian, having won only once in the Uganda Cup when they beat Jinja North United 7-6 on penalties after normal time ended 0-0.
Bianchi was appointed by Vipers SC in January 2023 after he managed Kazma in Kuwait during the 2019/2020 season and Interclube (Angola) in 2021, but Isabirye will now be tasked to salvage some positives from the CAF Champions League, defending the Uganda Premier League and guiding Vipers to Uganda Cup glory.
