TP Mazembe secured a win against Berkane of Morocco in their first leg of the semi-finals of the CAF Confederations Cup in DRC.

19 year old John Bakata’s goal in the 90th minute gave TP Mazembe a win and an advantage as they travel to Morocco to face off with Berkane in the return leg.

The second leg will take place on the 15th of May at Stade Municipal de Berkane.

The game saw 5 yellow cards issued with Berkane receiving 4 yellow cards in the entire game. The goal scorer received a yellow for Mazembe.

De Carvalho H from Angola officiated the first leg between Mazembe and Berkane.

The return leg will determine who will go through to the CAF Confederations Cup final.

In the other game, Orlando Pirates beat Al Ahly Tripoli 2-0.

Maela’s goal in the 8th minute gave the visitors the lead in Tripoli.

Orlando Pirates had more chances to add another goal and they didn’t fail in the 29th minute, Mosele scored and gave them a two goal advantage.

Al Ahly Tripoli will travel to South Africa for their return leg with the hope of overturning the loss so that they can go to the CAF Confederations Cup final on the 15th May at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.

Hotto and Ndlovu were the only players to be issued with yellow cards by referee Redouane J from Morocco.
