CAF Grants Approval: Namboole Stadium Finally Cleared to Host International Matches.

After enduring a prolonged period of tests and trials, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has at last bestowed upon the Federation of Ugandan Football Associations (FUFA) the permission to host international matches at Mandela National Stadium (Namboole).

FUFA has today, Monday, 13 May, 2024 confirmed receipt of a confirmation from CAF that the Mandela National Stadium has met the stringent requirements to host the national A team matches.


With this approval, Uganda Cranes eagerly anticipates hosting the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier matches against formidable opponents Botswana and Algeria in June at Namboole.

Excitement ripple through the Ugandan football community, with pride as the Uganda Cranes return to the facility for the 1st time since 2019.

Upcoming World Cup Qualifiers:
*June 3: Uganda Cranes Vs Botswana
*June 10: Uganda Cranes Vs Algeria
