CAF Officials to Assess Namboole Stadium’s Readiness for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers
Officials from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) are set to arrive in Uganda this Wednesday, May 8th, 2024, to evaluate Namboole Stadium’s readiness to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Botswana and Algeria next month.
Namboole Stadium recently conducted test matches on May 1st, 2024, to assess its suitability for hosting international football matches. According to reports, the facility successfully passed the test, demonstrating its capability to meet the necessary standards.
In preparation for CAF’s visit, a team of officials led by State Minister for Sports Peter Ogwang, National Council of Sports (NCS) chairman Ambrose Tashobya, and FUFA CEO Edgar Watson spent Monday, May 6th, 2024, at Namboole Stadium, meticulously going through checklists to ensure that all requirements are met.
