CAF to launch the African Super League
The proposed African Super League will be officially launched at the CAF’s 44th ordinary assembly in Tanzania on August 10.
CAF stated the Competition is meant to “breathe new life into African club competition”.
The 54 African Countries governed by CAF voted unanimously to go ahead with the competition last year.
The Tournament will be played in a three tabled, eight group format.
A minimum of 3 teams from each country will participate. Teams to participate will be determined by the CAF rankings in the previous five years.
The ultimate winner will walk away with $11.5 million as prize money.
The final will be a one leg affair played on neutral grounds. The Competition will commence next year in August.
