Monday – Uganda Cranes side were eliminated from the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) after losing their last Group B game. The Cranes suffered a 3-1 loss to West African giants Ivory Coast.

This was their first CHAN victory since 2016 as they overcame Uganda in a breathtaking match.
Senegal who put 3 past DR Congo, advance into the quarterfinals. The Cranes were close to breaking to knockout jinx and win against the West Africans would have sealed that dream.
Sankara Karamoko gave Ivory Coast an early lead with a diving header inside 12 minutes. Vignon Outro soon added a second to double the lead in the 27th minute.
The Cranes reduced the deficit before halftime after Moses Waiswa successfully converted from the spot from a foul on club teammate Rogers Mato was fouled in the box.

Any hope of a comeback were trashed late in the 78th minute Karamoko skillfully set up Aubin Kouame Kramo for the third goal that sealed a place in the quarter finals.
Uganda has never progressed beyond the group stages in the CHAN tournament.
The last time Ivory Coast made it to the Total Energies CHAN knockout stages, they won the bronze medal.
