Chelsea Believes!

The Champions league returned back after a week of uncertainty due to the desire to break away by the top European clubs to form a new competition known as the European Superleague. Real Madrid took on Chelsea in the first leg semi final in the Spanish capital Madrid.

Before the game could be played there was alot of talk from both camps on who would start. Real Madrid started with a 3-5-2 formation due to the absence of various players who couldn’t make it in the match day squad, Chelsea on the other hand started with what could have looked as a 3-4-3 but transforming into a 5-2-3.

Chelsea players in the first 20-25 mins where everywhere on the pitch as Real Madrid couldn’t match their intensity. Madrid this season only has suffered over 54different injuries and with Toni Kroos,Luka Modric, Dani Cavajal ,Varane just back from injuries you would easily notice the physicality issue from the Madrid players as Pulisic ran over them to score Chelsea’s most important goal of the night and became the first American to score in the European Semi final. Chelsea got a scare when Benzema hit the post in what could have been the opening goal for Madrid. Real Madrid improved their game and it paid as Karen Benzema scored a clinical goal which brought him to level with legendary Raul on 71goals.

With the game ending 1-1 Chelsea took the advantage in London second leg will take place on Wednesday next week at Stanford Bridge as Real Madrid will be welcoming back it’s Club captain Ramos,Mendy and Fed Valverde in the starting XI. A mouth watering second leg awaits in London.
