Egyptian forward Salah ‘devastated’ on Reds missing out on Champions League

Egyptian and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has said he is “devastated” that the club have missed out on a spot in next season’s Champions League.

“I’m totally devastated. There’s absolutely no excuse for this. We had everything we needed to make it to next year’s Champions League and we failed.” said the 30 year old.

“We are Liverpool and qualifying to the competition is the bare minimum.” Salah, won the 2018-19 Champions League with Liverpool and lost last year’s final to Real Madrid.

“I am sorry but it’s too soon for an uplifting or optimistic post. We let you and ourselves down.”

Salah recently signed a new three-year contract with Liverpool last summer. The forward scored 19 league goals this season, with six coming in 14 games before the 2022 World Cup and 13 in 23 games following the tournament.
