Express FC vs Vipers SC – Red Eagles out to avoid fifth consecutive loss
Tuesday – Express FC welcome defending champions Vipers to Wankulukuku Stadium as the Red Eagles look to avoid fifth consecutive loss.
The Red Eagles lost to Soltilo Bright Stars FC, Wakiso Giants FC, Arua Hill SC, and rivals KCCA FC in a row and will be seeking to return to winning ways against Vipers.
Express are currently 10th on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League log with 14 points. A loss would not be ideal for head coach James Odoch.
“We find ourselves in a tough position losing four games is already worse off meaning we can’t afford to lose a fifth. Vipers is a good team right from the coaches to the players but we are going to be playing from home so we have to use the advantage to win the game and get back the confidence of the team,” said Odoch.
Vipers come into this game behind a comfortable 4-0 win in their last league match against Onduparaka FC. A win over Express will propel the venoms to the summit on 26 points pending the result from KCCA and Bul encounter.
Vipers is marred with a lot of injuries. Goalkeepers Alfred Mudekereza and Karim Watambala are missing. Mudekereza contracted malaria while Watambala is out with a knock.
Murushid Juuko, Paul Mucureezi and Livingstone Mulondo remain sidelined due to respective injuries.
Sentamu is still out nursing a groin injury while winger Abdu Lumala has returned to training but Express encounter is too soon for the electric man.
Midfielder Ivan Mayanja is the only player unavailable for the Vipers’ game due to personal reasons.
