In a quiet St Mary’s Stadium for the first game, Maroons FC and BUL FC faced off in a quest for 1st leg advantage.

The match began evenly, with both teams displaying solid performances in the initial minutes. Maroons FC’s new signing, Ivan Mayanja, showcased his skills in midfield, forming a promising partnership with Ronald Orombi. Maroons had several early chances, but BUL FC’s goalkeeper, Joel Mutakubwa, made crucial saves to keep the game level.

Jerome Kirya celebrates his goal

As the first half drew to a close, BUL FC’s Jerome Kirya found the back of the net with a stunning shot in the 46th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error by the Maroons defense to give the defending champions the lead.

The second half kicked off with high energy, and just 10 minutes in, Maroons’ striker Brian Omirambe seized on a defensive lapse by BUL to equalize. In a turn of events,  Maroons’ Muwanda Mawejje received a red card for a second bookable offense in the 66th minute, leaving his team a man down.
