I Am Not Contracted To Any Club – Mathias Muwanga Assures
Former Onduparaka FC, Express FC and Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga has dismissed reports that he is in talks or close to agreeing a deal with any club.
The shot stopper was rumored to be close to reuniting with his former boss Waswa Bbosa at Gaddafi Modern FC. However, no deal has since been reached.
Muwanga left Express FC for Onduparaka FC in 2021 after negotiations to have the player renew his contract failed and thus the latter opting to move on.
At the end of the 2021/22 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season, Muwanga parted ways with the West Nile based club after talks between the two parties stalled.
“I have no assignment with any club yet since my contract expired with Onduparaka FC, sources outside there are false, my destination will be known soon,” Muwanga tweeted.
While at Express, Muwanga had a stellar performance keeping 13 clean sheets in the League and eventually named the 2020-2021 UPL best goalkeeper of the season.
The goalkeeper still remains a free agent with no suitors linked to him.
