Is this the Closest Premier League Campaign in History?

3 min read

Is this the most open and unpredictable premier league season in the modern Era?
Intriguing, Excruciatingly Painful, Unpredictable!! You have to find the right words befitting to describe the English Premier League Season 2020-21.

Since project Restart there was an aura of uncertainty after the sudden stop to life as a whole from the Global Outbreak of the Covid 19 Pandemic.
12 games into the Season, Spurs share top spot with Liverpool on goal difference. This weekend results suggest that this could be the closest premier league season in years if Liverpool’s 20 points Premier League title win last season is anything to go by.

An inform Chelsea lost to Everton this weekend who have just 1 win in the last 7 games. Spurs slipped to a draw against Crystal Palace, Only for Liverpool to drop points after a first half blitz by Fulham.
The Gunners are firing blanks at the moment capping up their worst ever Start in 40 years with the axe set for Arteta. (This Stat Makes Arsene look Like a Saint).
Add in a Dull Manchester Derby, This was the first Round Of Games in 12 years that City, United, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool all failed to win.

A few years ago on a Visit to Nairobi I was Greeted by the sheer sight and size of a Giant billboard (Similar to the one City put in Manchester to Welcome Tevez’s Signing from United) put up by a Sports Betting Company which in kiswahili said “Klopp Hi Ligi ina Wenyewe” Which loosely translates to “Klopp This League has its Owners” and Alas!!! 2 years Later Liverpool ended their 12 year drought of the premier League Title.
The condensed Football Calendar Could be a Reason as a result of Covid 19 outbreak, Project Restart, The early Season Kick Off left a congested Fixtures List For teams. Add in 3 rounds of International Games, Excessive Hours of Flights, Cup fixtures, Injuries, The Covid Pandemic and my Favorite VAR. Teams Playing in Europe are Hardest Hit.Take the example of Table Toppers Tottenham who have already played 23 Games in 13 weeks, Compare that with Crystal Palace 14 games.
Injury Hit Liverpool have Played 22 Games to Fulham’s 16 Games.
The Small Teams have benefited the Most. Add the Absence of Fans Which has always been the twelfth Man for Most Teams.

So what do we Learn from these Stats?
This is the Hardest Premier League Season Ever and Unpredictable!!!
The bookies Still Have Manchester City Down in 9th as Favorites to Win the Premier League Title this season.
Is there Any Chance of seeing another Fairy Tale Season in Another Leicester City inspired Challenge.
These Title Odds Could Get another Shake Up Mid this week As joint table Leaders Tottenham HotSpurs and Liverpool Face Off each other at Anfield.
Liverpool are Unbeaten in 65 Games at Home winning 31 of the 32.Aston Villa are on Song, Leeds are Lightening, West ham Are hammering, Newcastle are frightening, Everton, Burnley, Southampton, etc All Enticing.
As we enter the Last half of December with the Hectic Fixtures List during the festive season I wish You Good luck With Predicting the odds for your Respective Teams
