John Rogers Okumu: Arua Hill sign former Onduparaka defender on two-year deal
The versatile defender arrives at Arua Hill after the Kongolo gazumped other teams to secure their first signing of the transfer window.
Arua Hill SC have completed the first signing of the transfer window after bringing in right-back John Rogers Okumu.
The versatile defender arrives from Onduparaka FC and will likely replace the departed Richard Matovu in the left-back position.
The 22-year-old has signed a two-year contract that will keep him at Arua Hill until the end of the the 2024-25 season.

Rogers rose through the youth system of Onduparaka FC and has been at the club until his departure. He was a regular for the caterpillars last season when they got relegated to the FUFA Big League.
After the departure of left-back Matovu, the position became an area in obvious need of strengthening, but the signing of Rogers points to Arua Hill’s determination to rebuild the team after a number of key players departed.
It is understood that Mbabazi likes Roger’s aggression and pace, as well as what he can bring to the attack.

There will be relief among Arua Hill fans that they have finally got a deal done – and he will be one of a host signings in the coming weeks.
Head coach Mbabazi is keen to add a few more new faces to his squad over the transfer window. A new back-up goalkeeper is also being sought to replace the departed Omedwa who crossed over to URA FC.
