KCCA FC today played out a goalless draw away at Mbarara city.
The kasasiro boys who have never won a game at the lion’s home almost conceded the first goal of the game in the 6th minute when Okwalinga delivered a corner into the box and Adriko connected with a header that looped over the bar.
KCCA responded in the 10th minute after Poloto recovered possession and passed the ball to Achai but his effort from distance was wide over the bar.
In the 20th minute, Poloto picked up an injury and was replaced by another academy graduate Samuel Ssenyonjo.
The lions came closer in the 62nd minute through a powerful shot from 25 yards forcing Lukwago into making a necessary save.
KCCA Coach Byekwaso later introduced midfielder Gift Ali to turn around the fortunes for the kasasiro boys, but couldn’t yield any results.
Next for KCCA is an away trip to Arua to face struggling Onduparaka FC, while Mbarara play hosts to SC Villa.
Meanwhile in the other game of the game, SC Villa played a goalless draw with title contenders URA at Bombo.
Nyakoojo, Katongole and Birungi were the only changes made by Sam Ssimbwa.
The first serious attempt of the day came through Birungi Micheal who forced goalkeeper Ajaib Nafian to a save with a thunderbolt strike and the defense cleared the before Mukwala Steven could tap in.
URA captain Kagimu Shafik almost made it 1-with a wonderful strike in the 67th minute, forcing Saidi Keni into a top notch save.
The highly athletic end to end game came to an end with neither side able to find the back of the net.
The result leaves URA second on the Uganda Premier League table standings.
Next for tax collectors is an away fixture against 7th placed Bright Stars.
