Ministry of Finance Commits to Release Funds for Completion of Namboole Stadium Works

In a bid to address concerns regarding the delayed completion of works at Namboole Stadium, the Ministry of Finance has pledged to release the outstanding balance of Shs17 billion allocated for the project.

Speaker Anita Among highlighted the urgency of clarifying the whereabouts of the allocated funds during plenary yesterday. State Minister for Finance, Honorable Amos Lugoloobi, assured that the necessary steps would be taken to ensure the availability of the funds.

“We are going to trigger the process today to ensure that the money is available,” stated Minister Lugoloobi, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the timely execution of the project.

The delay in releasing the funds has been a point of contention, with Sports Minister Ogwang revealing that the Ministry of Education has repeatedly requested the release of the allocated funds from the Ministry of Finance without success.

Once finalized, the stadium will serve as a hub for various sporting events, providing a venue for athletes to showcase their talents and for fans to enjoy thrilling competitions.
