German NFF Congratulates Hon. Ayo Omidiran on Appointment as FCC Executive Chairman
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has congratulated Honourable Ayo Hulayat Omidiran on her appointment as Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
In a statement issued in Abuja, NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON) described Omidiran’s appointment as a reflection of the Tinubu administration’s recognition of integrity, competence, and credibility.
“The NFF is excited by this appointment of someone we proudly call our own. Honourable Omidiran’s name is synonymous with football, especially women’s football. She has founded and funded a football club, served on the NFF Executive Committee, and contributed immensely as a member of the FIFA Women’s Football Committee,” Gusau said.
He further praised her service in the House of Representatives, particularly on the Committee on Youth and Sports, noting her long-standing commitment to sports development and nation-building.
A trailblazer in women’s football, Omidiran established Omidiran Babes in the early 1990s and has consistently promoted women’s football and girl-child empowerment. Her career has spanned leadership roles in sport-related committees, as well as two terms in the House of Representatives, where she earned a reputation for altruism and decency.
The NFF expressed confidence that Hon. Omidiran will excel in her new role and continue to uphold the values of credibility and service to Nigeria.
