The match kicked off at exactly 3 PM, with Muni University making a statement early on. Their striker, Odongo Simon, fired a brilliant shot in the 11th minute, giving the hosts the lead and igniting the home crowd.

The goal forced UMU to push forward, dominating possession and creating dangerous set-piece opportunities. However, Muni’s goalkeeper, Asimwe Gard, stood tall, denying UMU multiple times.

As halftime approached, Uganda Martyrs University came close to an equalizer, but a last-ditch clearance by One of Muni’s defensive rocks kept them ahead.

The second half saw both teams battling for dominance, with UMU’s resilience finally paying off just minutes into the restart.

A brilliant free kick from their jersey number two found the back of the net, marking the fourth consecutive time Muni University has conceded from a set-piece in this tournament—a defensive flaw they continue to struggle with.
