Vipers are unbeaten in last four games, Villa lost last game 3-0 to rivals KCCA

Who: Vipers SC vs SC Villa
Where: St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende
When: 4.00 pm

Tuesday – SC Villa head to St. Mary’s Stadium on Tuesday afternoon for what promises to be a key game as Villa aims to join the mix in top four.

The match sets the scene for a mouth-watering tactical clash between managers ‘Robertinho’ Oliveira Gonçalves and Jackson Magera.

SC Villa lost their last league game 3-0 to KCCA FC at the Aki Bua Stadium in Lira. Gift Fred netted an own goal before Moses Waiswa and Kagawa Ssenoga scored to pile more misery on SC Villa which is currently suffering from docking of points by the FUFA disciplinary committee due to hooliganism.

Friday’s win makes it four games undefeated for Robertinho since the 1-1 draw with table leaders Wakiso Giants at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on 8 November. Vipers will also have been buoyed by a disciplined 1-0 win over URA FC on Saturday.

They are currently third in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, just three points ahead of Villa who are in sixth.

Meanwhile Villa have won 5 league matches this season. The Jogoos have registered 1 draw and 3 losses in the last 9 games.

A key game for Jackson Magera
Magera, who has been in charge of SC Villa since the start of the season, won his first game at home to a Gaddafi team managed by Wasswa Bbosa.

A loss to Vipers will undoubtedly heap pressure on Magera, who, despite impressive wins against Gaddafi, Bright Stars and Arua Hill, has overseen a 3-0 drubbing by KCCA FC.

SC Villa confirmed Jackson Magera as the head coach for the 2022/2023 season after parting ways with Greek coach Petrous Koukoros at the end of last season.

A win against a big-name team like Vipers will go a long way in building trust in Jackson Magera’s vision for SC Villa.

The last four head-to-head matches have been cagey affairs that have ended in 3 draws, but it was Vipers who last won the fixture 3-0 in February 2.
