Sand Cranes qualify for Beach soccer AFCON
The Sand Cranes beat Comoros 4-3 at the FUFA technical center in Njeru on Sunday afternoon to qualify for the Beach soccer AFCON that starts on 21st to 30th October in Mozambique.
Sand Cranes qualifications comes after a 9-5 aggregate win over Comoros over two legs, the first leg having ended 5-2 in Moroni, Comoros.
Sand Cranes took the lead in the first minute through Brian Nkuubi shortly before Nicholas Mwere came off the bench to score a brace before the break.
Moeva Chakira pulled two back for the visitors in the second half before Ismael Ahmed scored the equalizer shortly before Mwere came off the bench again to grab the Sand Cranes an equalizer sending them to this years’ big stage in Mozambique.
This is the second time the Sand Cranes will feature at the tournament having participated last year in Senegal.
