She Corporate Stun CBE To Reach CAF Zonal Final

FUFA Women Super League (FWSL) champions She Corporate FC secured a hard-fought 2-1 win against highly rated Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) FC to storm the finals of the CAF Champions League Qualifiers – CECAFA Zone 2022 in a game played at Chamazi Stadium, Tanzania.

She Corporate led 1-0 on Wednesday evening when Anitah Namata scored after 20 minutes to give the sharks the lead at half time.

Loza Abera brought the Ethiopian side back in the tie after the skipper equalised for CBE in the 61′ minute to level the tie at 1-1.

Sixteen minutes later, midfielder Phiona Nabbumba restored She Corporates lead. The Ugandan side held the shell-shocked Ethiopian side at bay to reach the final.

Meanwhile, Simba Queens thrashed AS Kigali WFC 5-1 to storm the finals of the CAF Champions League Qualifiers – CECAFA Zone 2022.

Corazone Aquino (2), Tukumbuke, Mnunka, Diana William Mnally were on target for the home side, whereas Mukeshimana scored Kigali’s consolation.

Simba Queens FC will play She Corporate in the finals on Saturday August 27 at Azam Complex, Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. This will be the second time the two sides are playing in this competition. She Corporate suffered a 2-0 loss to Tanzania’s Simba Queens in the second group game.

The winner will secure a ticket to the CAF Women Champions league finals later this year in Morocco.
