She Maroons and Rines SS WFC have been sportingly promoted to the FUFA Women Super League.

The teams won their semi-final games which were played on Tuesday to each book a slot in next season’s Women’s Super League

She Maroons and Rines both had a good display right from the group stages and that has earned them a spot in the top tier of Women’s football.

In the first semi-final, Rines SS WFC edged Bunyaruguru Girls in a penalty shootout 4-3 after normal playing time ended goalless.

Bunyaruguru’s Halima Katushabe and Adella Aine’s missed penalties were a huge blow for the team ending their journey to the Super League. On the other hand, Florence Nakalule failed to put the ball at the back of the net for Rines SS WFC.

Captain Shakira Nalule, Eva Nagayi, Yuster Kayesu, and Catherine Wujja all scored from the spot lifting Rines SS WFC to the Super League.

She Maroons in the second semi-final overcame Wakiso Hills courtesy of Kautharah Naluyima’s lone goal.

On Thursday, She Maroons will take on Rines SS WFC in the quest for championship whereas Wakiso Hills will face Bunyaruguru girls in the third place play off.
