Shocking! Robertinho sacked by Vipers
Thursday – Roberto Oliviera aka Robertinho has been sacked as Vipers SC manager after over a year in charge.
Robertinho replaced Fred Kajoba, who left the club towards the close of last season.
“Vipers Sports Club announces that Mr. Roberto Oliveira alias Robertinho has left his role as the head coach with immediate effect.
“The club would like to thank Robertinho for his tireless efforts as the head coach during his time at the club and wish him success in the future.
“The Club shall in the shortest time possible come out with a statement on the technical bench leadership following the coach’s departure.”
Vipers are currently third on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table on level points with second placed Bul FC (27) and two points behind table leaders KCCA FC.

Stanbic Uganda Cup final 2020/21 – Vipers 8-1 Bul FC
Robertinho’s Vipers humbled Bul FC 8-1 at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Sunday, 26th September 2021 in a closed door duel played under rainy conditions to win his first silverware with the club.
Yunus Sentamu stole the show with four goals, Ceaser Lobi Manzoki added a brace before a goal apiece by Livingstone Mulondo and Milton Karisa. Substitute Hamis Tibita scored the consolation for Bul.
StarTimes Uganda Premier League 2021/22 champions
Vipers SC were crowned champions of the 2021/2022 Star Times Uganda Premier League season in Robertinho’s first season in the league. The Venoms were declared champions two weeks before the season climaxed.
The Kitende based side completed the season in style with a 5-0 thrashing of relegated Police FC in their last match played at St. Mary’s stadium in Kitende.
Stanbic Uganda Cup final 2021/22 – Vipers 1-3 Bul FC
Robertinho took Vipers to their second Uganda Cup final is two seasons. The latter lost to the same opponents, Bul FC, 3-1 in the final played at Booma Grounds in Masindi.
Bul FC forward Karim Ndugwa scored a brace while Simon Peter Oketch added the other for the Jinja side. Fornmer Venoms captain Halid Lwaliwa scored the consolation for the defending chamopions.
Vipers qualification to the CAF Champions league group stages
Robertinho led Vipers to the group stages of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League for the first time ever.
The Brazilian’s troops held TP Mazembe to a goalless draw at St. Mary’s Stadium before edging the five-time African Champions 4-2 on post-match penalties to progress to the group stages of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.
