Sri Lanka Development Clinch Second Victory Against Uganda in Galle

In the second encounter of Uganda’s tour of Sri Lanka, the cricketing action continued to enthral spectators as Sri Lanka Development secured a commanding victory over Uganda XI in Galle.

Batting first, Uganda XI posted a competitive total of 131/9 in their allotted 20 overs, with notable contributions from Alpesh Ramjani, who scored 26 off 23 balls, and Brian Masaba, who made 22 off 24 deliveries.

However, they faced formidable bowling from the Sri Lankan side, with Tharindu Ratnayake leading the charge with figures of 3/18, supported by Ravindu Fernando’s 2/19.

In pursuit of the target, Sri Lanka Development showcased their batting prowess, reaching 136/5 in just 12.5 overs. Ravindu Fernando starred with the bat, remaining unbeaten on 38 off 28 balls, while Sandun Weerakkody provided crucial momentum with his blistering 32 off 15 deliveries.

Despite the efforts of Uganda’s bowlers, including Cosmas Kyewuta who claimed 3 wickets for 23 runs, and Brian Masaba who chipped in with 1 wicket for 30 runs, Sri Lanka Development sealed victory with 43 balls to spare.With this result, Sri Lanka Development has taken a 2-0 lead in the series, showcasing their dominance in the limited-overs format.

As the series progresses, Uganda XI will look to bounce back in the upcoming match scheduled for May 3rd in Galle, aiming to turn the tide in their favor and make their mark on the tour.
