TotalEnergies CAFChampionsLeague: Raja Casablanca put five past Vipers SC, CR Belouizdad beat Zamalek 1-0.

This year’s TotalEnergies CAF Champions League kicked off with two games played, one from Group C and Group D.

Zamalek welcomed CR Belouizdad from Algeria at Cairo International Stadium for their opening match in Group D.

First half ended goalless with Zamalek recording 5 goal attempts and one on target while CR Belouizdad had zero shots on target.

In the 57th minute, Wamba Leonel scored from the spot kick to give CR Belouizdad the lead and the only goal of the game.

In the other game played was the match between Raja Casablanca of Morocco and Vipers SC from Uganda.

Raja Casablanca beat Vipers SC 5-0 in their opening match of Group C of this season’s CAF Champions League.

Five minutes into the game, Khabba Hamza 26years of age put one past Vipers SC goalkeeper, Alfred Mudekereza to give the host the lead.

Jamal Harkass scored the second one 6 minutes later after Khabba’s opener. Zrida M made it three with seven minutes remaining to the end of first half.

In the first half, Raja Casablanca recorded four shots on target with Vipers SC recording one only.

Bianchi C, Vipers SC head coach made three substitutes at the beginning of second half and introduced in Omajondo O, Yunus Sentamu and Titty A for Watambala A, Abdu Lumala and Mandela.

Bouzok Yousri added the fourth goal for CR Belouizdad 15 minutes into the second half with an assist from Khabba.

In the 71st minute, Aholou Roger added the fifth goal to put off hopes for Vipers SC.

Vipers SC didn’t have any shot on target in the second half while CR Belouizdad recorded four shots on target.

Three yellow cards were given out in the entire game, two yellow cards for Vipers SC and one for CR Belouizdad.
