TotalEnergies CAFCL and CAFCC group stage draws to take place on Friday.

CAF has announced that the official draw for the group stages of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup will take place on the 6th October 2023 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The draw will start at 13h00 Johannesburg with the CAFCC being the first to be drawn then the CAFCL.

The 16 teams that qualified for the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League include the following;

Al Ahly FC (Egypt), Al Hilal (Sudan), ASEC Mimosas (Ivory Coast), Atletico Petroleos (Angola), CR Belouizdad (Algeria), E.S.S. (Tunisia), ES Tunis (Tunisia), FC Nouadhibou (Mauritania), Jwaneng Galaxy FC (Botswana)

Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Medeama SC (Ghana), Pyramids FC (Egypt), Simba SC (Tanzania), TP Mazembe (DR Congo), Wydad AC (Morocco) and Young Africans (Tanzania)

Al Ahly from Egypt are the current title winners for the CAFCL 2022/2023, having beaten Wydad AC 3-2 on aggregate in the final, making them the most successful club with 11 titles

The 16 teams that are ready to battle it out for the TotalEnergies CAF Confederations Cup 2023/2024 season include the following;

Abu Salem (Libya), Al Hilal SC (Libya), APC Lobito (Angola), Club Africain (Tunisia), Diabies Noirs (Congo), Dreams FC (Ghana), Modern Future FC (Egypt), Rivers United (Nigeria), RS Berkane (Morocco)

Sagrada Esperanca (Angola), Sekhukhune United (South Africa), SOAR (Guinea), Stade Malien (Mali), SuperSport UTD (South Africa), USM Alger (Algeria), Zamalek SC (Egypt).

USM Alger are the current defending champions, having beaten Young Africans in the 2023 final.

Club Sfaxien is the most successful club in the competition’s history, having won the tournament a record 3 times. The competition has been won by 13 clubs, 5 of which have won it more than once.

Al Ahly and Esperance have the most CAF Champions League group stage appearances, each as appeared 21 times.

Al Ahly have scored most goals in the group stages, 143 goals in 102 matches.

CS Sfaxien (Morocco) has the most appearances in the CAF Confederations Cup group stage, 9 times (2007, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022).
