Tuesday – The U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) resumed Monday with Uganda opening up the day’s matches with a hard-earned, 2-1 win over Central African Republic in the first game of Group B at the Suez Canal Stadium, Egypt.

First half goal by skipper Isma Mugulusi and anotherin the second half by John Paul Dembe lifted the Uganda Hippos to a 2-1 victory over Central African Republic.

The Hippos took the lead in the 47th minute when Mugulusi flipped Titus Ssematimba’s header past CAR goalie Mauril Abimala.

CAR fought to pull one goal back through Boris Gbenou in added time.
The result leaves Uganda second in Group C, level on points with table leaders Congo.

The Hippos will take on Congo in their next group game match on Thursday.
