Uganda cranes lose their first AFCON qualifier game against Algeria.

Uganda cranes started its AFCON qualifier game today against Algeria 

The game started with Algeria making many attempts but all in vain.

In the 23rd minute, Uganda cranes’ Aucho Khalid was cautioned after a foul against siliman 

In the 24th minute, Rami Basemani was given a yellow card for fouling Milton Karisa.

In the 28th minute, Algeria had to break Uganda cranes deadlock through Mandi Aissa making it 1-0 for the hosts

At half an hour mark, Uganda cranes was awarded a penalty and goal keeper saved Farouk Miya’s penalty.

Algeria continued to put up a spirited fight while containing their 1-0 till half time.

The second half began with a hight tempo with Algeria pressings harder to see that they can double their lead 

10 minutes into the second half, Uganda cranes made a double substitution of Allan Okello and Farouk Miya being replaced by Steven Sserwadda and Martin Kizza respectively 

In the 73rd minute, the cranes coach introduced Hakim Kiwanuka and Bobosi Byaruhanga replacing Milton Karisa ans Marvin Younman. 

In the 80th minute, Youcef Balaile scored a beauty of a goal doubling the lead for the hosts.

Derrick Kakooza replaced Uganda cranes captain Emmanuel Okwi in the 81st minute 

The center referee ended the match at full time 2-0 in favour of Algeria

Uganda cranes will return in action against Niger on Wednesday 8th June 2022 at St Mary’s stadium, kitende in Uganda.
