Uganda Cup: 16 goals scored as Wakiso Giants ran riot against Tooro United

The Uganda cup round of 16 final games played on Sunday evening saw 16 goals scored in three games.


Wakiso Giants scored five past Tooro United to seal a comfortable 4 goal advantage after the visitor’s pulled one back from the spot.


Frank Ssebuufu opened the scoring in the 11′ minute. Ivan Bogere doubled the lead after tapping home from close range.


Rahmat Ssenfuuka added the third before Tooro pulled one back from the spot. Viane Ssekajjugo restored Wakiso’s three goal lead, and Marvin Oshaba wrapped up the fifth from the spot.


Wakiso Giants will go into the second leg with a comfortable goal advantage of four.


Maroons 0-2 KCCA
KCCA won comfortably 2-0 away at Maroons with goals from Herbert Achai and Jurua Hassan.


Achai nodded in the Kasasiro’s first from close range off a flawless cross courtesy of Jurua Hassan. Maroons almost equalised through Zziwa, Lukwago had to make a goal line save to deny the home side their first goal of the day.

Jurua Hassan doubled KCCA’ lead from the spot after a handball. Pius Obuya missed a chance from the spot to give Maroons a goal going into the second leg.

Proline 2-1 Mbale Heroes
Proline defeated Mbale Heroes at Lugogo, thanks to goals from skipper Noordin Bunjo and and defender Savio Kabugo.


Bunjo converted from the spot after Mato Brian was fouled in the box. Savio Kabugo added the second from a well executed free kick before Mbale Heroes pulled one back through Jamaldin Buchocere.


Police 4-1 Soliton Bright Stars
Police scored four against Bright stars with an early goal in the 3′ minute from Ben Ocen.


Yusuf Jangali equalised for the away side before Yusuf Ssozi restored the cops lead. Ben Ocen scored his second of the day with a left-footed beauty from a distance.


Substitute Kakooza made it four with a reflex finishing off Ben Ocen’s pass. Bright Stars defender George was given a his matching orders in the 67′ minute.
