Victor Kiplangat wins another gold for Team Uganda in Budapest.

Victor Kiplangat wins the 42 km marathon gold at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.

The 23-year-old Ugandan claims the Men’s marathon gold with a dominant performance ahead of Israel’s Maru Teferi and Ethiopia’s Leul Gebresilase.

Victor Kiplangat won the heated up men’s marathon that had about 20 athletes left in the leading pack by half way mark in 2 hours 9mins and 53 secs.

Tamirat Tola who was very much in contention to defend the title was dropped at 35kms.

Tamirat Tola of Ethiopia won the race in 2 hours 5 minutes and 36 seconds last year, a record for the world championships .

Uganda’s Kissa Stephen finished 5th despite he’s run down during the marathon.

Victor Kiplangat comes in to make his statement at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary after his appearance in Birmingham last year at the 2022 commonwealth games.
