German TotalEnergies CAFCL: Mamelodi Sundowns and Horoya AC both win their first group games.

The Brazilians got off to a winning start in Group B in the TotalEnergies CAFCL on Saturday afternoon at Loftus Versfeld Stadium as they beat Al Hilal 1-0.
Mailula Cassius scored the only goal for Sundowns in the 25th minute to give them three points in their first group game.
Altayeb Abaker was shown a second yellow card in the 86th minute.
Mamelodi Sundowns top group B as Al Ahly is yet to play their game against Cotonsport since the game was postponed.
In group A, we had only one game between Petro Atletico and Kabylie where it ended in a goalless draw.
Esperance Tunis secured a win against Sudanese Al-Merreikh, thanks to Tougai’s later goal to put them top of Group D with the same points as CR Belouizdad.
Simba SC lost their first group game to Horoya AC of Guinea in group C. Horoya AC have the same points as Raja Casablanca with a different goal difference.
Pape Ndiaye’s goal in the 18th minute secured three points for the Matamkas. He missed a penalty in the 72nd minute.
Six yellow cards were issued in the entire game by referee Omar A.M from Egypt.
Round 2 games will be played on the 17th and 18th of February 2023.
