AFCON 2023 Qualifier: Vipers Redesign Dressing Room Ahead of Uganda-Niger Encounter
Vipers SC have given St. Mary’s Stadium away dressing room a new look ahead of Uganda’s second game against Niger in the AFCON 2023 Qualifiers which will be played on Wednesday 8 June, 2022.
Uganda Cranes have resorted to using the stadium after CAF disapproved the national stadium for hosting national football games.
St. Mary’s Stadium-Kitende has a capacity of over 25,000 people with over 1,000 VIP seats. On 3 March 2017, the African football governing body, CAF, cleared the then newly constructed St Mary’s Stadium to host football games.
Uganda will lock horns with the West African side in their second game in Group F. The Uganda Cranes lost their first game away at Algeria 2-0. Aissa Mandi and Youcef Belaili scored the goals that propelled the desert foxes to top spot, with Uganda in fourth place after the opening game. Tanzania and Niger shared points in the other group game earlier.
