Alfred Leku: ZESCO United confirm signing of former Arua Hill SC forward

Zambian Premier League side, ZESCO United have completed the signing of Alfred Leku on a free transfer from StarTimes Uganda Premier League side Arua Hill Sports Club.

Leku, 24, left Arua Hill SC upon the end of his contract at the end of the 2021-22 campaign and is set to undergo medicals with the Team Ya Ziko.

The forward has penned a one-year deal at ZESCO, having spent the past two seasons in Arua.

The lanky forward was the top scorer Arua Hill SC in the two seasons he spent at the West Nile-based side. Leku netted 5 goals in the FUFA Big League in 12 games, which saw the club gain promotion to the tp-flight league. The striker increased his tally to 11 in Arua Hill’s maiden season in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

ZESCO United: “We are delighted to announce the signing of Ugandan striker, Alfred Leku on a 1-year deal subject to completing medicals.

Leku is expected to beef up ZESCO United’s striking force following the retirement of veteran striker Winston Kalengo.

The former Arua Hill Sports Club striker comes with a ray of features that could be of great value to ZESCO United’s quest to return to the summit of the Zambian game.

Leku 24 is endowed with a good height, a good powerful shooting range and a natural ability to score goals with ease.

ZESCO United have continued to consolidate their squad ahead of what is expected to be an exciting football season.”
