Anthony Modeste: Al Ahly confirm signing of former Borussia Dortmund striker
African champions Al Ahly have officially announced the signing of French striker Anthony Modeste on a one-year contract.
Modeste left Dortmund and has been a free agent since last July.

Modeste signed a one-year deal with Al Ahly that will run until June 2024, with an option included for one further season, depending on his playing time.
Modeste becomes Al Ahly’s fourth summer signing after Reda Slim, Emam Ashour, and Khaled Abdelfattah, whose loan deal became permanent.
he 35-year-old also becomes the only fifth Frenchman to play in the Egyptian Premier League after Florent Malouda, Chris Gadi, Walid Kharaoui, and Benoît Croissant.

Last season, he scored just twice in 18 games for Dortmund in the Bundesliga, but also appeared seven times in the UEFA Champions League, including appearances against Man City and Chelsea.
The Frenchman also had spells at OGC Nice, Bordeaux, Blackburn, Hoffenheim, and Saint-Étienne, as well as having a €29 million move to China in 2018.
