Bright Stars Secure Maximum Points Away At Onduparaka FC
Soltilo Bright Stars condemned Onduparaka to their third consecutive loss at home in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after stunning the Caterpillars 3-1 at Greenlight Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Caterpillars lost their last two home games to Vipers [2-0] and neighbors Arua Hill SC [3-0].
The visitors started brightly with counter-attacking football. Their fast real attempt was Bugembe’s long-range free-kick which rattled the crossbar. The hosts responded through Jarieko whose long-range effort hit the top-right crossbar.
Matata Gabriel came close for the home side after a lapse in the Star Boys’ defence but Were came to their rescue, bringing half-time action to an end.
Forward Norman Ogik broke the deadlock one minute into the second half to give Onduparaka the lead. Bright Stars responded immediately through Mugume after a great workout by Loki.
The visitors doubled their lead after Kasinde headed in Loki’s well-calculated cross to put Bright Stars in the driving seat. Substitute Nelson Ssenkatuka sealed it all for the Star Boys in extra time with a clever tap-in.
The Caterpillars slide to 10th on 34 points. Meanwhile, Bright Stars are 12th on 33 points.
Onduparaka FC travels away to UPDF FC for their last game of the season in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Saturday 21 May 2022. Whereas Bright Stars welcome relegated Mbarara City to end their 2021/22 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.
Soltilo Bright Stars Coach Paul Kiwanuka Reacts
