CAF Champions League: It’s All to play for in the Semi-Final Return Leg for Al-Ahly and TP Mazembe.
After a frustrating goalless draw for the 5-time champions TP Mazembe in the 1st Leg of the Caf Champions League held in Lubumbashi-Congo, in an intense encounter with the defending champions Al Ahly SC, it is all to play for in the return leg this friday.
In a rather aggravating tie, TP mazembe moves on after failing to find the back of the net at home despite a huge home crowd, a good display and constant chances sending numbers forward from Zemanga Soze’s off target in close range to Phillipes Kinzumbi’s header going over the bar.
The Egyptian giants will exploit this tie with an home advantage and benchmark on their recent form and record. Appearing in the semi-finals for the 15th time , more than any other team and they are unbeaten in their last 19 matches in the tournament having lost 5-2 to Mamelodi Sundowns back in March last Year.
The tie is tightly in the balance and both teams are still in the mix to fight for the final slot. The two teams will rekindle contest at the Cairo International Stadium on Friday, 26th April with an expected attendance of over 50,000 supporters many of those in their traditional red of the home team.
