Egypt and Senegal meet for the first time since the AFCON 21 Finals in February, The Egyptians will be on home soil to host the Lions of Teranga in the 1st Leg of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers on Friday at the Cairo International Stadium.

Carlos Queiroz the Egyptian Head Coach named his 23 Man squad that will be selected for 2 Leg Fixture on the 25th and 29th of this Month, Egyptian star man Mohamed Salah who was doubtful for the clash with a foot injury will be available for selection. The Pharaohs started camping on Sunday the 20th at Cairo Hotel ahead of the preparations of the game.

The Pharaohs have a boost heading into this fixture having not lost any home game since 2019 after a 1-0 defeat to South Africa when Argentinian Javier Aguirre was still the Head Coach.

Salah’s recovery from the foot injury brings much confidence into the team and a different dimension to their style of play with a 4-3-3 formation that allows counter attacks. The Egyptians only included 5 foreign based players in their squad.

Aliou Cisse the Senegalese Head Coach has transformed the Senegalese team to a much better style of play in the last 5 years, The Lions of Teranga seek to qualify for the FIFA World Cup for the second consecutive time in history if they go past Egypt.

Aliou Cisse called up a 26 Man squad to travel to Egypt and Watford FC winger Ismaila Sarr will be available for selection this time.

Senegal accused Watford FC for failing to release the player after he was selected for National duty earlier this year.

Other star players to join the Senegalese camp are Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and Sadio Mane.

Casa Sports FC Goal Keeper Alioune Badara Faty is the only home based player to be included in the Senegalese Squad. The Coach is confident he will overcome the Egyptians after their victory in the AFCON 2021 Tournament.
