Blacks Power, Kyetume & Maroons earn automatic promotion to UPL

The FUFA Big League has finally come to an end with three teams (Blacks Power FC, Kyetume FC, and Maroons FC earning promotion to the Uganda Premier League.

Blacks Power

Blacks Power FC came from behind to beat Luweero United 2-1. The visitors opened the scoring through Brian Kone a few minutes into the second half. The hosts managed to triumph over the men from Luweero, thanks to Michael Siwu’s double.

The Lira side finished as FUFA Big League champions with 39 points in 20 games. Maroons FC were second on 38 points, one adrift Blacks Powers who walloped Nyamityabora FC 5-0.

Kyetume FC

Kyetume FC defeated Kataka FC 3-2 at Mbale Municipal Stadium in a match that saw the hosts players and fans turning rowdy at full time. The visitors led 3-0 at half time, courtesy of Ezra Bida, Ezra Kaye Kizito and Sharif Ssaka goals.

Kataka FC came back stronger in the final 45 minutes scoring twice through Emmanuel Mukisa and Francis Odongo. However the goals were not enough to mount a successful come back.

Kataka ended the season in fourth position, with 36 points.

Maroons FC

The Prison Warders put 5 past Nyamityabora. League top scorer Fred Amaku, Belmos Opio, Solomon Walusimbi, Hadadi Kambugu and Bruno were all on target for the visitors.
