FUFA Drum: Group Two Completes FAMACO Course
The Federation of Uganda Football Association has completed the three-day Football Administration and Management Course (FAMACO) for the second group of administrators for FUFA Drum Provinces.
The three-day Football Administration and Management Course (FAMACO) officially got underway last Monday 7 July at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru where the first group of province administrators completed the course. These included Bukedi, Teso, Sebei, Buganda, Karamoja, Acholi, Bugisu and Kampala.
According to the Federation, the course is a capacity building workshop for administrators across the 16 provinces that will be participating in this year’s edition of the FUFA Drum.
The second group that attended the three-day Football Administration and Management Course (FAMACO) for the FUFA Drum provinces included; Bunyoro, Kigezi, Tooro, Busoga, Rwenzori, Lango, Westnile and Ankole.
The West Nile Province team that attended the training had a unique composition of administrators; The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Director of Finance and Administration , Hajjat Medina Naham is the Patron, Arua Central Division MP, also Government Regional Whip for West Nile Hon. Atima Jackson is the coordinator; FUFA Executive Member Ariga Rasoul is the Chairman of West Nile Province.
Other are Ade Fredrick Isaac, the West Nile FA Chairman, who is the Treasurer for West Nile Province and Toko Badru, as the media officer.
The FUFA Drum tournament will be returning for the first time after two-years. Acholi Province are the defending champions. The Northern side edged Bukedi Province 5-3 on penalties to emerge the winners of the 2019 FUFA Drum competition after their captain Dennis Okot netted the winning spot-kick during the final played at Akii-Bua Stadium in Lira.
Meanwhile, Buganda won the inaugural edition of the FUFA Drum tournament after edging West Nile 2-1 on aggregate in the two legged final in 2018.
