Lady Doves 2-1 UCU Lady Cardinals

Lady doves Fazila Ikwaput continues with her brilliant display at the ongoing FUFA Women Super League with her lone goals that gave the team victory over UCU Lady Cardinals.

The outstanding striker scored twice to give Lady Doves a massive comeback against UCU Lady Cardinals in the first match of the day at Njeru.

Skipper Hasifa Nassuna had given UCU Lady Cardinals the lead in the 18th minute but Ikwaput came to play scoring the equalizing goal.

The 2019 league champions had a good start with dominance and possession in the first half giving them ample opportunities which they failed to capitalize on.

Ikwaput made a calculated run between defender Shadia Nankya and goal keeper Ruth Aturo bringing Lady Doves back in the game. Aturo and Nankya had a miscommunication hence failing to clear the ball giving Ikwaput an opportunity to round off the goalkeeper and hit the ball into an empty net.

Lady Doves came back stronger in second half with Riticia Nabbosa taking control of the midfield passing long balls to Ikwaput.

In the 75th minute Lady Doves were awarded a penalty when Nankya fouled Ikwaput in the box. The striker converted the penalty into a goal giving her team the lead.

Lady Doves now maintains their position at the top of the table in group 2 with 7 points. The team will play their final match on Friday against She Corporate while UCU Lady Cardinals take on Olila High School and Isra Academy.
