1 min readManchester United will host AS Roma in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final tonight, with the tie set to play a large role in defining United and As Roma’s season.
Coming into their fifth semi-final in two years, United have not progressed to any final in that span, while Roma arrive at Old Trafford with just one win in seven of it’s last Serie A games. Roma will look to their Europa league form to overcome the English Men.
In just it’s second semi-finals in successive years, United have been outstanding in Europa League, as they eliminated Spanish sides Real Sociedad and Granada and saw off AC Milan the most successful Italian club in European competition.
Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 17 home games in the Europa League winning 13 and drawing 4.Man United had a premier league weekend to forget when they drew 0-0 with Marcelo Biesla’s Leeds United while As Roma lost 3-2 against struggling Cagliari.
Under fire Paulo Fonseca would wish to leave a legacy behind as the only As Roma coach to have made it to the European finals for the club in over 30year where as United will look to history against the Roman club to win.
