‘Player Participation in the FUFA Drum Should be Voluntary’ – Harunah Kyobe

Harunah kyobe, one of the directors at Vipers SC has hit at the Federation of Uganda Football Federation (FUFA), asserting the football governing body should not force players to participate in the FUFA Drum.

Harunah made the remarks while appearing on the #NBSEndibaYaffe show on NBS Sport. His comments come at a time when other club and province officials have put FUFA on the spot following Vipers SC’s decision not to release any player to take part in the tournament.

“Personally, I believe that FUFA should not have the power to compel players to participate in the FUFA Drum tournament.

“Players have the ability to decide whether or not to enter this competition,” said Harunah.

The Venoms are currently in Rwanda to continue their preseason ahead of the new season. The club will also be involved in CAF Champions League next season, and Head Coach Roberto Oliveira Gonçalves is using this opportunity to prepare his players for the continental showpiece.
