Tooro 2-2 Lango: Northern Side Fight Back to Draw Away

Monday – Lango came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Tooro Province in a highly-entertaining FUFA Drum Semi-final first leg match on Sunday evening at St. Paul’s Seminary, Fort Portal.

The two sides played failed to convert their chances at half-time. Tooro started the second half excellently with Marvin Youngman producing a great finish to put the hosts ahead in the fifty seventh minute.

But Lango responded in sublime fashion. KCCA FC youngster Allan Okello pulled one back for the visitors in the 73rd minute.

With Tooro commanding the contest, Benjamin Nyakoojo doubled the the home side’s lead five minutes later with a fabulous long-range strike.

With five minutes remaining until the end of the second half, Allan Okello struck again to salvage a hard fought draw for the visitors.

Lango will welcome Tooro Province for the return leg on 18th December at Akii-Bua Stadium, Lira City with the winner facing either West Nile or Acholi in the finals.

West Nile defeated Acholi 1-0 in the semi-final first leg played at Greenlight stadium, Arua city, on 13th November with the return leg slated for 10th December at Pece Stadium in Gulu.

The final this time will be played on a home and away basis, just like it was the case in the inaugural edition of 2018. The dates for the final have been tentatively set on 7th and 14th January 2023.
