UPL Match Day – Gaddafi Lock Horns with Arua Hill SC in Jinja

Wednesday – Gaddafi FC and Arua Hill SC lock horns in today’s early kickoff in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at Kakindu Stadium, Jinja.

The Soldier boys will look to bounce back to winning ways after a 2-0 defeat at Wakiso Giants ended their two games unbeaten run.

Gaddafi FC lost 1-0 to Wakiso Giants in their last league game.

The hosts sit 10th on the 15-team log, and a win could propel them to into the top seven.

Wasswa Bbosa’s reign at Gaddafi hasn’t quite picked momentum yet. The soldier boys have only won two of their last seven games, registering three draws and losing twice.

Meanwhile Arua Hill will be looking for their first win after a trio of losses. The West Nile based side have lost their last three games in the league (URA 1-0, Vipers SC 1-0, SC Villa 1-0). A win for the away side could re-engage their season after starting off on a positive note, winning three of their first four games of the season.

The Kongolo will be without the services of their team captain Toha Rashid. The defender is likely avoiding a third yellow that could keep him out of the West Nile derby slated for this Sunday.

Right-back Atendele Geriga remains a long-term absentee after picking up an injury against SC Villa at Barifa Stadium in their last league encounter.

Forward Samuel Kayongo Ssekamatte will also be missing in action for the Kongolo. Ssekamatte who joined Arua Hill on a two-year contract at the beginning of the 2020/21 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season is yet to find the back of the net for the Barifa side. This leaves head coach Livingstone Mbabazi with the option of new recruit Isaac Ogwang and Jacob Kamwesiga upfront.

Gaddafi and Arua Hill have met on two occasions in the past with the Jinja side winning one and the other tie ending as a draw.
