UPL Match Day – Winless Ondu Welcome Table Leaders Wakiso Giants

Wednesday – Wakiso Giants will be looking to move six points clear at the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table when they visit Onduparaka FC at the Military Barracks Ground, Bombo.

The Purple Sharks will enter the contest off the back of a 2-0 win over Gaddafi FC on Friday, while Onduparaka FC suffered a 2-1 loss to Soltilo Bright Stars in their last match on November 15.

Wakiso Giants climbed to the top of the Premier League table after three wins in their last four games. The Wakiso based side are one of the three sides (the other sides are Bul FC and Vipers SC) that have only lost once this season.

The Purple Sharks are three points clear of second, third, fourth and fifth placed-Bul FC, Vipers SC, SC Villa and Express respectively, who are all on 14 points and will have the chance to move six points clear on today, as Bul FC and SC Villa are not in action until Friday, when they face Busoga United and KCCA FC respectively. Meanwhile Vipers SC will travel away to URA on Saturday.

The Purple Sharks have been strong away from home in the league this season, picking up 6 points from 4 matches. Onduparaka on the other hand remain the only side yet to win a league game.

Onduparaka FC are far from down and out, but there is no getting away from the fact that something special will need to happen in order to revive their season and move out of the relegation zone.

The Caterpillars are currently 15th in the table, two points behind 14th-placed Busoga United.
